On the occasion of the 19th founding anniversary of Bikolpodhara Bangladesh, Mohammed Ohid Uddin, President of the United Kingdom Branch and Vice-President of Central Committee, General Secretary UK Branch Fazlul Haque and Vice-President UK Branch Misbah Jamal congratulated all the leaders and workers of the party including the United Kingdom Branch. These leaders of the United Kingdom Branch expressed their wishes in a statement given to the media on the occasion of the 19th anniversary of the Bikolpodhara Bangladesh on May 8. It should be noted that BNP’s founding secretary general and former president of Bangladesh Prof. A.Q.M. Badruddoza Chowdhury formed this alternative stream political party on May 8, 2004 under the name of Bikolpodhara Bangladesh. Professor B. Chowdhury became the President of Bangladesh on 14 November 2001 and resigned from the post of President on 21 June 2002 due to political reasons. Professor B. Chowdhury is still in office as the president of the Bikolpodhara Bangladesh. The founder secretary general of the party is former BNP government minister of state for textiles Major (Retd.) Abdul Mannan MP. The leaders including the president of Bikolpodhara Bangladesh UK branch Mohammed Ohid Uddin also said in the statement, we have been involved with the party since the establishment of Bikolpodhara Bangladesh in Dhaka on May 8, 2004, 19 years ago with the aim of establishing real democracy in the country and we were the first in Bangladesh and outside Bangladesh to form the UK branch of Bikolpodhara Bangladesh on May 24, 2004. In the statement, the leaders of the Bikolpodhara Bangladesh UK branch also said, “Protection of freedom and sovereignty, establishment of real democracy, corruption-free Bangladesh and economic freedom are the 4 pillars of our party ideology. We the party members are committed to work together to implement this party ideal.
