Sylhet’s newly elected Mayor Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury was felicitated in a meeting organized by Redbridge Community Trust (RCT).

Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury was felicitated in a meeting held at Apple Real Estate, Newbury Park, Redbridge on Thursday, June 22, in the evening under the chairmanship of Redbridge Community Trust (RCT) President Alhaj Mohammed Ohid Uddin and moderated by General Secretary Shaheen Choudhury.

It should be mentioned that Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury , a resident of Redbridge, joint secretary of United Kingdom Awami League and member of the executive committee of Redbridge Community Trust, was elected mayor in the Sylhet City Corporation election held on June 21.

Speakers at the RCT meeting congratulated Anwaruzzaman Choudhury and said, “The people of Sylhet City have chosen a talented, honest and worthy person as their mayor. For this we thank the residents of Sylhet city and express our sincere gratitude.

Speakers in the meeting also said, “Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury is equally popular in UK and Sylhet, we are very proud of him.” “We are deeply hopeful that he will be able to turn Sylhet metropolis into a modern metropolis of the world with his talent, dedication and wisdom.

Afsor Hussain Anam, Wazid Hassan Shelim, Mohammad Faruk Uddin, Misbah Jamal, Moyen Uddin Anser, Dr. Syed Mashuk Ahmed, Joynul Choudhury, Mamun Rahman, Niaz Choudhury, Abu Shohel, Moinul islam, Humayun Kabir,Moksud Ahmed,Anamul Haque and others spoke at the meeting.

At the end of the meeting organized by RCT to congratulate Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury , the members ate each other sweets and rejoiced.
