The arrest took place around 2:30 PM at his private establishment in the Rampura area of Dhaka by officers from the Hatirjheel Police Station.
The arrest was confirmed by Md. Ibne Mizan, Deputy Commissioner of the Tejgaon Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP). He stated that the case was initially filed on 23 June at the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court in Dhaka, accusing Hero Alam of attempted murder, physical assault, and intimidation. Another individual, Ahsan Habib Selim, has also been named as a defendant in the case.
Subsequently, on 12 November, the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Wahiduzzaman issued an arrest warrant against Hero Alam. Acting on this warrant, police apprehended him and sent him to the court.

It is alleged that Hero Alam, along with 10–12 unidentified individuals, verbally abused Ria and her family members at the location.
The complaint further states that the group forcibly entered Ria’s current residence and assaulted her with wooden sticks, causing serious injuries to her head and other parts of her body. The case also mentions that a 1.5-tola gold chain was stolen during the incident.
