33 govt officials made OSD; they oversaw 2008 election as returning officers

The government has reassigned 33 joint secretaries and equivalent officials – who served as returning officers during the controversial 2018 national election – to the role of Officers on Special Duty (OSD).
The Ministry of Public Administration announced the decision in six separate notifications.
The notifications did not specify the reason for the move, stating that it was in the public interest.
